Our Counselors

PictureAudrey Henley
Audrey is a sinner, by virtue of being in Adam’s race; a sufferer, by virtue of living in a fallen world; and a saint, by virtue of her union with Jesus Christ. She believes that God has supplied us with everything we need for life and godliness and that hope and help can be found in the person of Jesus Christ and His living Word. She believes that God is in the transforming business of making all things new, that Christ is our life, and that people can change! She longs for people to “taste and see that the Lord is good”! Her passion is studying, teaching and counseling the Word of God.

She has been a Biblical Counselor since 2002 and certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors in 2010. She serves in Women’s Ministry at Whitesburg Baptist Church as a Bible teacher for the Early Bird Bible Study Group. She works for E4GW (Equipping for Good Works) as an Instructor/Trainer of Biblical Counseling and as a Biblical Counselor. She volunteers as a Chaplain for Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.  She is a student at Southern Seminary, and in her spare time, she enjoys reading, learning to sew, traveling, and just spending time with people.

Audrey is the daughter of Ron and Dianne Queen and grew up as a military child.  In 1979, she married Jerry Henley, an engineer by trade and a lover of God and family by heart. Jerry and Audrey live in the Southern State of Alabama in a white frame house with a wrap around porch. Together, they have brought up six children who are now scattered all over the world. There are two grandchildren, Emma and Anna Joy, that bring a smile to Audrey’s face every time they are mentioned and if you ask, she’ll be sure to tell you the latest “grand-story”!

PictureSarah Rice
Sarah Rice is a Christ follower, pastor’s wife, boy mom, biblical counselor, lover of the written word and the beauty a photo can capture. Sarah has a bachelor's in phychology from Auburn and a Master of Arts in Biblical counseling from SBTS.

Writing is a necessary practice for me as it helps me work out what God is teaching me through His Word and my life circumstances.  Writing helps me flesh out how the gospel shapes every part of my life, and it gives me the opportunity to share truth and hope with other women whom I may never encounter personally.

During this season of life, I’m blessed to serve alongside my husband in ministry, counseling and teaching women the Word of God. I’m also deep in the trenches of mothering through “the little years,” experiencing both the great joys and challenges this season brings. My three little boys are changing and growing at unbelievably rapid rates these days, and what joy it has been to have a front row seat as they have progressed  from crawling, to taking their first wobbly steps, to walking steadily, and finally to running in leaps and bounds. This process has reminded me of my own walk of faith.

Learning  to walk with Jesus is progressive. It’s about learning to get up when you fall or, rather, clinging to Christ in reckless faith as He carries you and puts you back on your feet. Ultimately, this blog is documentation of my life that I am learning to “live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20b). My prayer is that I will look back at these written words and see how I progressed from wobbly baby steps of faith to running beside Him in leaps and bounds.
